Neosho, Missouri
The city of Neosho is located in southwest Missouri, just 18 miles south of Joplin at the intersection of highway 71 and highway 60. The name of the city is an Indian term for 'clear, cold water'.
Nestled among cool, clear, natural springs the city is known as 'The Flower Box City', named after a successful city beautification experiment that is still visible today in the form of flower boxes in front of business and other establishments.
Attractions in the city include the Neosho National Fish Hatchery which was establish 1888 and is the oldest federal hatchery still in operation, Big Spring Park, Newton County Historical Society Museum and Neosho Historical Downtown Square.
