Named after Stephen and Dorcas Sullivan, early settlers, the city of Sullivan is located along the I-44 about 70 miles southeast of downtown St. Louis.
Sullivan main attraction is Meramec Caverns, a complex of caves featuring geological mineral formations located just 7 miles northeast of the city in LaJolla Natural Park. Other points of interest include the Fisher Cave in Meramec State Park and Meramec River.
